Conservatory Bromeliad Terrace Completed

Second Floor Terrace Enchanting with New Spiral Quotes

A unique design feature was added to the second floor south Bromeliad Terrace inside the Inasmuch Foundation Crystal Bridge Conservatory. The design includes two quotes engraved in a spiral pattern to enhance the aesthetic beauty of downtown Oklahoma City’s iconic Crystal Bridge. The quotes are from E.O. Wilson and Charles Darwin and promote preserving nature and adapting to change.

Look closely at nature. Every species is a masterpiece, exquisitely adapted to the particular environment in which it has survived. Who are we to destroy or even diminish biodiversity?” – E.O. Wilson

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” -Charles Darwin

In addition to the colorful bromeliad plants, the second-floor landing also features a cecropia tree, golden dewdrop, ferns, orchids placed within redwood tree roots, Chinese evergreens and alocasias.  It is also home to the Conservatory’s best ambassador Muffin, our much-loved parrot who has resided in the Conservatory since the mid-90s.
