Myriad Botanical Gardens Presents “The Way of Flowers – Orchid Ikebana” Exhibition

Myriad Botanical Gardens invites visitors to immerse themselves in the exquisite beauty of orchids at this year’s highly anticipated exhibition, The Way of Flowers – Orchid Ikebana, running March 8 through April 6 inside the Inasmuch Foundation Crystal Bridge Conservatory.

Inspired by the Japanese art of flower arrangement, known as ikebana or kadō, the exhibition will showcase a breathtaking array of orchids as symbols of elegance and prosperity.

“The Japanese tradition of ikebana highlights the profound beauty found in nature’s simplicity and balance,” said Nathan Tschaenn, director of horticulture at Myriad Botanical Gardens. “This year’s exhibition will transport guests into a tranquil world of floral artistry, offering a serene escape into the refined aesthetics of Japanese culture.”

The exhibition will feature meticulously crafted displays, including a Zen garden, a bamboo grove, a torii gate, ikebana floral arrangements, a tatami teahouse-inspired setting, a hana chouzu water basin, and an artistic floral rendition of The Great Wave off Kanagawa.

To prepare for the exhibition, the Crystal Bridge Conservatory and Myriad Gardens Gift Shop will be closed on Monday, March 3, and Tuesday, March 4.
