2026-2031 Strategic Plan

Follow our progress as our 5-year Strategic Plan is implemented at Myriad Gardens and Scissortail Park.

At the heart of Oklahoma City, Myriad Botanical Gardens and Scissortail Park serve as vibrant places where people gather, reflect, and celebrate. Managed under the umbrella of the Park Management Company (PMC), the 2026-2013 Strategic Plan charts the next chapter for both properties. 

This plan outlines a clear path to elevate the visitor experience, strengthen operations, and secure the resources needed to care for these treasured spaces well into the future. 

By advancing this vision, the Gardens and Park will continue to grow – reflecting the energy, spirit, and momentum of Oklahoma City. 

GOAL ONE

Advance operational excellence by optimizing Myriad Gardens and Scissortail Park under the Park Management Company (PMC) umbrella.

  • Create a cohesive mission and vision while honoring two separate identities.
  • Optimize governance structure, including the community board. 
  • Align leadership and decision-making processes across both parks. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and strong internal communication.
  • Define the optimal use of and master planning for Lower Park and the East gateway. 

GOAL TWO

Remain top destinations in Oklahoma City for residents and out-of-town visitors. 

  • Determine the mission and purpose of all event and program offerings, recognizing the distinct reasons guests visit Myriad Gardens and Scissortail Park.
  • Align events and programming with budget, staffing capacity, and operational guidelines.
  • Capitalize on upcoming city-wide signature opportunities, including the new Thunder arena and the 2028 Summer Olympics.

GOAL THREE

Prioritize an exceptional and educational experience for every guest. 

  • Define what an exceptional and educational guest experience means at both Myriad Gardens and Scissortail Park.
  • Ensure world-class horticulture, inspiring landscapes, and outstanding amenities are consistent hallmarks of PMC. 
  • Strive for every guest to have a meaningful interaction that leaves a lasting impression.

 

GOAL FOUR

Ensure long-term financial sustainability to support the future of PMC through a commitment to grow earned and contributed revenue. 

  • Align program and event offerings with revenue generation and donor engagement as primary considerations.
  • Raise awareness of Park Management Company’s public-private funding structure and the importance of philanthropic support. 
  • Strengthen relationships among board members, donors, and community leaders to support long-term growth.
