Myriad Botanical Gardens is thrilled to partner with the Oklahoma Bonsai Society to bring you an exciting opportunity to learn from a master of the art of bonsai! Join Randy Bennett as we learn the basics of shaping, pruning, and caring for miniature trees with an emphasis on bald cypress as a native species excellent for bonsai. Randy will provide an in depth analysis of the growth patterns of this tree as applied to bonsai and reveal his knowledge of sophisticated techniques from his upcoming book. This class is a perfect jumping off point for budding bonsai enthusiasts and those curious but intimidated with what they need to begin.

Propagating plants, whether from seed, root stock, leaf cuttings, or something more, is an outstanding and budget-friendly way of increasing your indoor or outdoor plant collections. While certain plants ‘propagate’ better than others, we can increase the likelihood of success with a little know-how. Join us as we discuss and demonstrate methods and strategies of propagation as well as what plants propagate best with which methods, timing, and more. You’ll be the star at your next get together when you show up with a rooted cutting for a friend or family member!

Monarch Waystations are garden habitats specifically designed to provide the resources necessary for monarchs to produce successive generations and sustain their migration. Learn how to build your own waystation from the ground up, including planning and design, sourcing host and nectar plants, garden maintenance, and certification. Participants will head home with one host plant and one nectar plant.

Over the course of several sessions, you’ll learn essential techniques, from selecting the right flowers to mastering composition and color coordination, all while enhancing your creativity and floral arrangement skills.
