Expand your knowledge of Oklahoma plants and find inspiration for your own garden with an educational walking tour, led by one of our knowledgeable horticultural staff. Although geared towards adults, children and leashed dogs are welcome.
Paint a verdant forest paired with a lilting desert with Brooke Hutchens of Redbud Pigment Co. as she guides us through a botanically-inspired watercolor piece using handmade pigments that are locally foraged and sustainably sourced.

Learn how to create your own floral arrangement using seasonal flowers and foliage collected from the garden grounds. We’ll begin with a basic introduction on floral design, go over the already collected materials available, and then head outside to collect a few items together. We’ll end the class by creating our arrangements to take home, as well as discussing tips for foraging in your own yard and ways to prolong the life of your arrangements.

Join us as we discuss techniques and tips for selecting, prepping, and pressing florals before we settle in to create our own pressed floral art within a floating glass frame. Guests will leave with a small flower press of their own as well as a piece of art brought to life from their own hands and imagination.

Moss poles mimic the conditions many of our climbing tropical houseplants need and can be made to be long-lasting and perfect to enhance the well-being of plants such as monstera, pothos, and more. Join Wei Li of Simple Morea in learning about and creating your own moss pole to support a houseplant you can take home specially propagated from our very own Crystal Bridge Conservatory!

Kokedama is a botanical planting style originating in Japan and popular in modern aesthetics. Ornamental houseplants are planted within balls of soil and moss and can be hung or displayed decoratively. Join Wei Li of Simple Morea in learning the art of kokedama in this workshop. Guests will leave with a complete kokedama they have made, including a plant.

An ideal time to take care of much of our pruning, the spring allows us to manage our plants and send them off with their best foot forward. We will cover the hows and whys of pruning, plants best suited for spring pruning versus holding back, old wood versus new wood, and more.
Beloved but feared, the orchid (Phalaenopsis spp and more) finds itself so often relegated to the category of ‘plants I can never keep alive,’ but did you know that orchids are actually a fairly easy plant to maintain once you learn about their unique needs and habits? Join us as we learn about absolutely everything we can about different types of orchids, what they need, how to grow them, where they come from, and more. Enjoy the orchids on display for our Orchid Ikebana exhibit. Guests will leave with an orchid of their own.
